Dr. Sharp graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Psychology. He earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences COMP-NW in Lebanon, OR. Following medical school, Dr. Sharp completed his Family Practice residency training at ECHN in Manchester, CT. After residency, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.
Dual board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine, Dr. Sharp helps recreational and competitive athletes regain their highest level of fitness and ability. He implements a comprehensive approach to diagnose and treat injuries and other underlying issues. He specializes in ultrasound guided injections, acute and chronic injury care, and athletic-related concussion treatment. Dr. Sharp has specialized training in orthobiologics; a treatment that uses the body's own healing abilities to help with long-term pain from tendon injuries and osteoarthritis.
During his career, Dr. Sharp has served as a team physician for Football Championship Subdivision champions North Dakota State Bison, division 2 and 3 colleges, junior hockey teams, minor league baseball teams, and as a ringside physician for MMA. He has experience treating athletes from all levels including high school athletes to future NFL and WNBA players. He is also the program director for the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Conway Medical Center through the Campbell College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Sharp and his wife, Rebekah, enjoy being outdoors, cooking, going to coffee shops, and restaurants. They also enjoy cross country skiing, going for walks with their dog, and working out together.
