CMC Acute Rehabilitation provides inpatient rehab due to functional loss that has occurred from injury or illness. Our 24/7 facility offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech/language pathology for a minimum of 3 hours/day, 5 days/week, all under the watchful eye of CMC Physicians. Our facility provides cognitive and perceptual evaluation and training, motor skills/swallowing skills assessment, wheelchair position and mobility training, home evaluation, and much more. While the length of time our patients are with us varies, we are committed to personalized care that meets our patients exactly where they are.
To give you a greater understanding of who might benefit from CMC Acute Rehab, we’d like to introduce you to Mr. Ike. After experiencing a 30-foot fall from a roof, he suffered from multiple fractures, including a bilateral femur fracture. After spending a month in another facility and returning home, it was clear that Mr. Ike was not yet able to fully care for himself in his home environment. Thankfully, Mr. Ike was referred to CMC Acute Rehab where he worked tirelessly with our staff to regain function and movement. With his physical therapist, Teresa by his side, Mr. Ike worked tirelessly through his daily therapies, resulting in not only standing on his own but walking unassisted. The emotional journey culminated with Mr. Ike returning home after 27 days with us. Thanks to our dedicated team, he has the tools and knowledge he needs to continue to perform his daily exercise at home with the hope and determination to return to his prior level of function.
Regardless of the type of injury, our goal remains the same. To discharge the patient to their home environment and to their prior level of function.
