CMC Orthopaedics teams up with Horry County Schools
This football season, you can find providers from CMC Orthopaedics under the Friday night lights for four area high school football teams. CMC Orthopaedics is the official sports medicine partner for Carolina Forest High School, Socastee High School, St. James High School, and Conway High School.
These sports medicine specialists are highly trained and experienced in providing sports medicine services to high school, college, and professional teams and athletes. CMC felt it was important to bring this level of care and expertise to students in Horry County Schools both on the sidelines and for follow-up care. Providers make weekly trips to the training rooms to assist with care.
“CMC is now the leading sports medicine brand here in Horry County. We are the premier orthopaedic providers for over 4,000 student-athletes, which is far more than the closest competitor,” said Dr. Donovan Johnson, CMC Sports Medicine Specialist and Orthopaedic Surgeon. “We are able to deliver this through technology, innovation and availability, even on the weekends.”
In addition, there is a weekly Saturday walk-in clinic open from 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays through Oct. 28 at CMC’s Health Plaza South at 6010 Highway 707 in Socastee and is available to any Horry County studstudent-athletem any sport with an acute injury. Services offered at the clinic include imaging, braces and splints, and diagnostics.
“Our new HCS partners have been pleased with the expedited and quality care they have received,” said Dr. Johnson. “We offer same-day appointments with our sports medicine team, and it only takes a text message through an application to request and schedule an appointment.“
CMC Orthopaedics offers a variety of orthopaedic and sports medicine services including for feet and ankles, hands and wrists, hips, joint replacements, knees, pain management, shoulders, and elbows and spines.
