CMC Receives Grant for Mobile Mammography Unit
Conway, SC: Conway Medical Center is one of four recipients of the MultiPlan, Inc. 2018 Rural Health Outreach Grant. This grant will help fund the mobile 3D mammography program for patients in Horry County, including those who are low-income and/or without adequate insurance.
Conway Medical Center submitted a creative proposal for addressing the healthcare needs of the people in our community. The $7,500 grant will help purchase the vehicle to bring 3D mammography imaging services to women who might not otherwise be able to visit the hospital for their breast cancer screening.
The mobile 3D mammography is part of Conway Medical Center’s Healthreach program which provides potentially lifesaving screenings for the medically uninsured and underinsured. The Healthreach program is funded by donations to the Conway Medical Center Foundation.
