Conway Medical Center resumes all services after Hurricane Florence
Conway Medical Center resumed all services on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, including outpatient services and planned elective surgeries. CMC remained open to deliver emergency medical services to over 550 people as well as obstetric care to over 50 laboring and expectant mothers during Hurricane Florence. Over 300 staff members and 30 physicians remained in-house to provide around-the-clock medical care to the community.
“We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our employees and their selfless efforts to care for patients at a time when many of them were facing so much uncertainty themselves,” said Bret Barr, CMC president and CEO. “I could not be more proud of our team and how they worked tirelessly to provide exceptional medical care and comfort to our patients and their families.”
CMC did not incur any major damage from the storm and remained fully functional. The medical center is currently working with their vendor partners to ensure that they have supplies to support all services as the focus shifts to the possible impacts of local flooding.
“We’re assisting staff members who are effected by power outages and flood and have an accommodations plan in place to insure that essential employees have a place to stay. In addition to that, our team is actively working to assist patients with finding accommodations if they’re scheduled to be discharged and are unable to return home due to flooding. It’s important to us that our community knows that no matter what, we are here for them as we continue normal operations at this time.”
Patients with question regarding scheduling of procedures should call 843-347-7111.
