CMC Updates Visitor Policy
Effective 6 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020, CMC will no longer allow visitors for patients in the hospital, with the exception of those patients in end-of-life circumstances, and patients in The Birthplace as well as pediatric patients, are limited to one visitor. This return to a no visitor policy comes after the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our area and is in the best interest of protecting our patients and staff.
CMC continues to screen all patients and employees prior to entering the hospital. That screening includes questions about symptoms and possible exposure to someone with COVID-19, as well as taking temperature for fever. Patients going to a physician’s office or for an appointment in the main building can only enter the facility through the Patient Services entrance or the Medical Arts Building entrance. The main lobby entrance to the hospital is closed. Emergency Department patients should still enter through the Emergency Department and will be screened before entering the facility.
If you have flu-like or pneumonia-like symptoms such as a fever, cough, shortness of breath and/or chills, please contact your primary care provider before arriving at the provider’s office. You can find a complete list of CMC’s providers and locations on ConwayMedicalCenter.com. If you are concerned about your possible exposure and/or symptoms, CMC is offering a phone line where you can speak with a medical professional for a screening for COVID-19. Call (843) 428-8767 Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to speak with a Registered Nurse. After regular business hours and on weekends, you can use MUSC Health’s Virtual Care MUSC.care to speak to an online virtual care provider. For general questions about COVID-19, contact the DHEC Care Line at 1-855-472-3432 option 3.
CMC continues to work closely with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Duke Infection Control Outreach Network during this emerging and evolving situation.
