CMC Temporarily Halts Elective Surgeries
Starting Monday, July 13, 2020 until Monday, July 27, 2020, Conway Medical Center (CMC) will only perform medically-urgent and emergent surgeries. All elective surgeries will be rescheduled. CMC is taking this step in light of the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in our area. CMC’s administrative team will continue to assess and evaluate this ever-evolving situation with COVID-19. The surgical postponements may be extended beyond two weeks if the situation warrants.
CMC continues to require universal masking of all patients and employees at all locations at all times. All patients and employees are screened prior to entering the hospital and all outpatient provider clinics and physician offices. That screening includes questions about symptoms and possible exposure to someone with COVID-19, as well as taking temperature for fever. Patients going to a physician’s office or for an appointment in the main building can only enter the facility through the Patient Services entrance or the Medical Arts Building entrance. The main lobby entrance to the hospital is closed. Emergency Department patients should still enter through the Emergency Department and will be screened before entering the facility.
CMC encourages everyone to join us in the effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. “We continue to urge everyone to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands. These are the most important weapons we have to fight this virus,” said Dr. Paul Richardson, CMC Chief Medical Officer.
