Common Applicant Questions

Will CMC let me know my application went through ok?  CMC manages applications through an electronic application program that each applicant establishes an account in.   Applicants may view the general status of an application by logging into their CMC account with their username and password that they set up.

Will I be called for an interview?  The decision to invite an applicant for an interview is up to the hiring manager. Lots of factors influence that decision such as number of applicants, applicants meeting not only the required but preferred qualifications and more.

It’s been a long time and the status of the job hasn’t changed. What does that mean?  The job is still open. Jobs can take 4 days to a year to close.

What happens if a job is filled? The job posting system will send out an automated update that the position was filled to each applicant.

These electronic systems seem impersonal. Can’t someone call or email me? Human Resources representatives will communicate on a personal level as much as possible with position finalists, but with thousands of applications per year it isn’t possible to establish a direct personal communication pathway with each applicant.

If I will be invited for an interview or I am working with an HR representative as a finalist, how and when can I expect communication to occur? CMC utilizes phone, email and texting that will occur generally M-F 8am to 8pm. As communications increase for finalist, HR representatives will attempt to use the preferred method of communication the applicant desires.  Watch for 843-347-XXXX calls.

What happens if I am offered a job?  Only a CMC HR representative may officially offer you a CMC job and that will typically occur first by phone and then be followed up by a written offer letter. The HR representative will guide you through the onboarding steps.  Learn more about the Application Process

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?  Yes, apply for as many jobs as you want as long as you meet the minimum stated requirements for each position you are applying for.

If I didn’t get the job I applied for, can I go back in and apply for a new job? Yes, applicants may log back in and apply for any job that they meet the minimum stated requirements for at any time.

If I didn’t get the job I applied for, will the HR department maintain my application and place it with a new similar position that might be posted in the future?  The HR department will review applicants and attempt to make job match when positions have few applicants. However, applicants shouldn’t rely on the that process and instead monitor for new job postings weekly and apply themselves.

Each time I apply do I have to go over all the same application questions again?  No, applicants can quick copy all the information from the last application and make needed updates and changes.

Does CMC drug screen position finalists?  Yes. CMC is a Drugfree Workplace.

What is the CMC Physical Competency Assessment?  Some applicants are required to pass a Physical Competency Assessment to ensure a physical match to the position they are seeking.

Can I do a paper application?  CMC doesn’t offer a paper application option. However, if an applicant needs assistance completing the electronic registration and application process, they may email us to schedule a date and time for assistance at the Human Resource Office.

What if I forget my username or password? Return to the job search main link and click on “forgot username” or “forgot password”.  We do not have access to reset or view usernames or passwords.
