Dr. Najla Itani is a physician with Oncology and Hematology specialties. She obtained her undergraduate studies at the American University of Beirut-Lebanon and after undergrad, continued her studies at various universities. She is currently obtaining her Masters in Medical Education from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and was recently awarded the 2018-2019 Chief Fellow during her fellowship.
Dr. Itani is part of the CMC Cancer Center where she uses her experience in Hematology, Oncology and Internal Medicine to treat our patients with blood disorders, cancer, and various conditions. This new center is backed by the expertise of the Duke Cancer Institute and offers the latest technologies to treat patients in need of chemotherapy, intravenous medications and other blood products. Dr. Itani has a passion for connecting with her patients and says, “I strongly believe that building a strong physician-patient connection that is founded in trust is at the core of excellent patient care. I want my patients to feel that we are an extension of their family and will care for them in both the best and worst of times.”
When asked about her patients, Dr. Itani says they “will always come first and I will do my best to provide the best care possible for each patient no matter how difficult the situation may be.” This very accomplished MD is an asset to our program that strives to enhance the treatment of cancer patients and those dealing with other conditions that may need intravenous treatments.
