Daniel Boykin, DO,
Family Medicine
Primary Care
Board Certified in Family Medicine
I have always had a strong passion for helping others and realized that from my interests, strengths, and aspirations I was destined for something in the medical field. Having worked in emergency medical services for several years before going to medical school, I’m strongly driven to help treat and educate patients to alter the path of preventable illness. Providing effective health care is a team accomplishment, but my philosophy on primary care is that it requires comfort working in a gray zone. What is best for one patient does not make sense for another and what we practiced five years ago, in some cases, is no longer the standard of care today. It is important to me to gain the trust and respect of my patients through maintaining up-to-date knowledge, active listening, empathy, and providing a spirit of encouragement. I strive to help patients move the needle together in order to accomplish their health goals. My areas of special interest include chronic disease management, specifically obesity, and diabetes. Outside of work, I spend most of my free time with my family including my amazing wife and two young, rambunctious sons. I enjoy spending time at the beach, baseball, reading, watching movies, and cooking.
