CMC Healthreach program awards $45,000 grant for third consecutive year
Conway Medical Center (CMC) is extremely pleased to announce The Leon Levine Foundation (TLLF) has awarded a $45,000 grant to support our mobile outreach programs for the third consecutive year. CMC’s Healthreach Community Outreach Programs provide potentially lifesaving screenings for the medically uninsured and underinsured in our community and those with limited access to healthcare.
The programs include the CMC Healthreach van, CMC Mobile Mammography Center, and the CMC Smart Snacks Program, a food and nutrition program for children which includes coordinating, packing, and delivering nutritious snacks each weekend during the school year to combat food insecurity. The Healthreach van makes multiple stops each month throughout the area to provide complete wellness screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. Once health issues are identified, the CMC staff educates the patients about preventative measures and treatment options to keep them healthy and active. CMC’s Mobile Mammography Center offers 3D mammography imaging services to women who might not otherwise be able to visit the hospital for a breast cancer screening.
