CMC Installs New Mamava Lactation Pod in Hospital Lobby
Conway Medical Center (CMC) has installed a new Mamava lactation pod to meet the needs of breastfeeding parents. The pod in the main hospital lobby is available for patients, staff, and visitors to allow for breastfeeding or pumping in a private location.
“We are very excited to provide this pod for breastfeeding support for our employees and community,” said Tony Minshew, CMC Vice President of Patient Care Services. “CMC has long been a supporter of breastfeeding parents. More babies are born at the CMC Birthplace each year than any other hospital in Horry County, and those parents are provided with inpatient and outpatient breastfeeding support, which includes an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and breastfeeding classes. This Mamava lactation pod is one more way CMC is helping our patients live happier, healthier lives.”
Mamava is transforming the culture of breastfeeding by making it easier for more parents to pump or nurse at work and on the go. Mamava lactation pods are freestanding spaces intentionally designed with easy-to-clean surfaces and conveniently placed outlets to provide a comfortable and private option to breastfeed or pump.
