Dr. W. Charles Myers, Jr. was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from Elon University with a degree in sports medicine and a chemistry minor. After graduation, he earned his doctorate from the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Myers then went on to complete a residency program at the VA Medical Center in Vermont. At that hospital, he helped run the High-Risk Foot Clinic. Dr. Myers also worked closely with the Dartmouth School of Medicine and faculty in New Hampshire. Dr. Myers then continued his training in surgery at the Baptist Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee. In Tennessee, Dr. Myers also spent time at the prestigious Campbell Clinic under the direction of Dr. Christopher Hendrix. After completing his residency program, he then completed a fellowship in podiatric medicine and surgery at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After his residency program, Dr. Myers was asked to join the Wake Forest University School of Medicine faculty as a full-time podiatric surgeon and physician. While Dr. Myers was at the Wake Forest School of Medicine, he had the opportunity to become one of the sideline doctors for the Wake Forest Demon Deacon Football Team. As a high school football player and a huge fan of college football, being on the sideline was a dream come true. Dr. Myers completed the criteria to become board-certified in surgery while at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and still maintains that certification today.
