Conway Medical Center Offers CT Coronary Angiogram (CCTA) Near You
Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiogram (CCTA), also called a CT Coronary Angiogram, uses advanced CT technology, along with intravenous contrast material (dye), to obtain high-resolution, 3D pictures of the moving heart and great vessels.
Through a CCTA, a physician can see blockages and areas of narrowing in a patient’s heart arteries on the images.
Physicians can use the CCTA test to help detect or evaluate:
- Coronary heart disease
- Calcium buildup in the walls of the coronary arteries
- Problems with the aorta including aneurysms and dissection
- A pulmonary embolism
- Problems in the pulmonary veins
- Problems with heart function and heart valves
- Pericardial disease
- Results of coronary artery bypass grafting
