Medstar Subacute Facility is also known as Medstar Marina. The care partners for Medstar focus on the provision of intensive skilled rehabilitation and nursing care to prepare patients for the journey back home. Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies are provided 5 or 6 days per week as indicated by the patient’s plan of care. Care partners allow their Medstar patients to function in an environment where choice and individuality is honored.
The facility is located adjacent to Conway Medical Center and has accommodations for twenty-two patients. Our commitment to the community begins with providing quality, patient-focused care in an economical manner. A high standard of care is maintained through the use of comprehensive guidelines for treatment and a commitment to teamwork and quality improvement.
Characteristics of Subacute Care
Subacute care is provided by a team of professional health care givers who focus on the medical, psychosocial and rehabilitative needs of patients following hospitalization for an acute illness or condition. The primary goal of subacute care is to help the patient return to his home environment as safely and as quickly as possible.
