Palliative Care is offered as a joint program of Conway Medical Center and Mercy Hospice and Palliative Care. The service is an interdisciplinary consultation team consisting of Nurse Consultants, Physician, Social Worker, Pastoral Clinician, Nurse Practitioner, and Case Manager.
What is Palliative Care?
The Palliative Care team works with the patient, family, and primary physician when the patient is affected by chronic progressive illness by -
- Making suggestions for pain control and symptom management.
- Providing spiritual and emotional support.
- Assisting the patient's family and others in exploring goals of care, understanding options, and determining choices based on patient wishes
