You can feel comfortable in knowing that Conway Medical Center Diagnostic Imaging Services, more commonly known as “Radiology,” possesses the staff, equipment and software technology to rival imaging in larger hospitals across the country.
The imaging department at CMC is a modern, progressive department staffed by qualified professionals including nationally registered or certified technologists and board-certified radiologists. The Quality Management System of the Department is certified to ISO9001:2008 Standards.
CMC’s Imaging capabilities include: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computed Tomography (CT), Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT), Ultrasound (including diagnostic testing for peripheral vascular disease or PVD), Angiography and Interventional Radiology, Digital Mammography, Diagnostic Radiography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Nuclear Medicine imaging and Bone Density testing.
2007 saw the complete replacement of all of the Ultrasound equipment, providing the latest, state-of-the-art imaging in Ultrasonography. 2008 saw the replacement of our 3rd Nuclear Medicine camera, improving that modality’s patient throughput and reducing delays in scheduling. The replacement of one of our CT scanners in 2009 provided the Conway community with our first 64-slice CT scanner and imaging of the heart never before possible.
Digital Mammography, a new feature in 2008, in addition to the latest in Stereotactic-guided breast biopsy systems in 2009, provides earlier detection of, or absence of, breast cancers, allowing more definitive diagnoses and thereby increasing survival rates. The digital imaging also decreases the appointment wait times, allowing patients access to this important service much sooner than was possible with the previous film system.
Our Picture Archiving and Communication System, or PACS, allows your healthcare provider access to your diagnostic images within seconds after your exam – whether in Conway or as far away as Charleston. This digital capture and storage of your images provides the technologists, radiologists, and your healthcare provider the ability to manipulate each image, promoting clarity of detail not possible with film systems.
As you can tell, CMC takes it’s imaging services seriously. That’s why you’ll always get A Clearer Picture at Conway Medical Center.
