CONWAY, SC– David Crutchfield has been named Vice President of Information Services and Chief Information Officer (VP/CIO) at Conway Medical Center (CMC.) This position was created by the board of directors to oversee CMC’s transition to an enterprise-wide healthcare information system (EHIS.) The VP/CIO serves as the key executive for the information services and communications department for CMC. As VP/CIO of information technology, Mr. Crutchfield will play a key role in overseeing the design, development and implementation of organizational information systems, software applications, and IT support and infrastructure systems.
“With this approved system change and creation of this new position, I am pleased that David Crutchfield, formerly with Maestro Strategies, has accepted the position of CIO. With over 33 years of experience as a senior executive of Information Systems, he has provided leadership, vision, strategy, placement and implementation to drive return on investment in IT projects,” said Brett Barr, Vice President of Fiscal Services at CMC. David has both his Bachelors and Masters in Information Technology from Troy University and was previously employed as a VP/CIO at Virginia Hospital in Arlington, VA. He has also worked with companies such as Ernst & Young and Caremark.
