CONWAY, SC– Conway Medical Center (CMC) honored two employees with awards for Clinical and Non-Clinical Healthcare Worker of the Year. Susan Macklen, RN from the Critical Care Unit was recognized as the Clinical Healthcare Worker of the Year and Lisa Newell, US from the Critical Care Unit was awarded the Non-Clinical Healthcare Worker of the Year. These employees were nominated and voted on by CMC physicians for their dedication to providing high quality services. Both were presented with plaques by CMC Chief of Staff, Dr. Scott Mencken, at a ceremony on December 17, 2015.
Susan Macklen, RN has worked at CMC for 18 years. She functions as both a charge nurse and a staff nurse in the Critical Care Unit. She is described by her peers as a person who is always willing to help. She contributes a wealth of knowledge and is referred to as a great resource for others.
Lisa Newell, US has worked at CMC for over ten years. She works as a multi-skilled technician in the Critical Care Unit. Those that nominated Lisa believe that she has the ability to make families and visitors feel special. In addition to her professional skills she has a heart of gold and provides a personal touch which is so important in ensuring a positive patient experience.
