Conway Medical Center Announces New Vice President of Medical Affairs 

CONWAY, SC– On January 1, 2016, Paul M. Richardson, Jr., MD, MBA, FACP took over as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Conway Medical Center (CMC).  He takes over for Preston Strosnider, DO who retired after holding the position for nine years.  

Dr. Richardson most recently held the position of Vice President of Clinical Informatics and Utilization at CMC.  Previously, he was in private practice for over 12 years in Conway with Carolina Internal Medicine of Conway, LLC.  Dr. Richardson is board certified in Internal Medicine.  He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by completing his residency and internship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  Dr. Richardson completed a Master of Business Administration degree through the Auburn University College of Business in May 2015.  As Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Richardson will facilitate medical staff interactions with hospital administration and the governing board to assure effective and efficient delivery of quality medical care consistent with the mission and vision of CMC.

Dr. Richardson is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, National Association of Physician Advisors, Santee Cooper Community Advisory Council and a member of the Governor’s Council for the South Carolina Chapter of American College of Physicians.
